    • JULY and AUGUST 2011: Hand Removal of Pinestraw

      The hand removal of pinestraw is underway on 250 of our 4,000+ acres between Equestrian Road, Firelane 3, Firelane 1 ext and Firelane 2 . Please note that workers will be in the Foundation daily with their equipment. The pinestraw removal project is scheduled to run through mid-September.

    • AUGUST 2011: Thinning of Scrub Oaks

      There will be a crew in the Foundation starting at the end of July to thin scrub oaks and apply herbicide to the stumps on approximately 50 acres. There are two areas scheduled for treatment this year. The first is located at Adkins Head and Firelane 1and the second is located along Carroll's Branch between Firelane 3 and Nasty Crossing. The short term result is an area that will be more open and appear somewhat messy but the long term result will be a pine savannah with an open canopy and an understory covered in grasses and other herbaceous plants. This project will run through mid-September.
